Your role

As a Graduate Business Sales Executive in the Commercial and Industrial (C&I) Customers Team, you will be at the forefront of the Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) sector by owning all stages of the sales funnel, building a strong pipeline of qualified opportunities and ultimately delivering quality sales to exceed targets.

In this role, you will be responsible for generating and executing B2B gas, electricity and solar sales through the provision of accurate and timely information, advice and proposals to prospective and existing SME customers on energy products and options that meet their business needs and align to AGL | Perth Energy’s retail strategy.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Assisting the Business Sales Manager to generate new customer communication channels and sales within targeted customer segments through research, customer engagement and the application of agreed sales strategies to achieve a balanced retail portfolio.
  • Identifying, contacting and acquiring new business with target SME business customers in accordance with retail strategy and KPIs through renewals, cross-sell opportunities, cold calling and utilisation of warm leads.
  • Undertaking all aspects of account management and customer relations for designated/acquired account portfolio, instigating and maintaining ongoing communication with customers at the appropriate time to minimize the risk of churn or customers being out of contract.
  • Providing information and reports on daily/weekly calls and work activity and results, recommending improvements in products, services, policy and/or procedures where appropriate to achieve improvements in process efficiency and customer satisfaction and keeping the Business Sales Manager informed on workload, work activity and any issues.
  • Developing and maintaining good understanding of the energy retail cost structure (including network, capacity and energy charges), all relevant agreements/terms (i.e. Pricing Models, Electricity Supply Agreement, Commercial Terms and Conditions of Supply) and knowledge of compliance obligations, market conditions, promotional programs, competitive products and marketing practices to ensure customers are provided with accurate and up to date information while demonstrating knowledge of designated accounts, commercial and contractual terms, conditions and key dates (e.g. contract anniversary), to facilitate effective account management, customer support and communication.
