Your role

The APA Graduate Program – Commercial Operations stream provides a unique opportunity to complete three six-month rotations across core Market Services teams accountable for the commercial and physical operations of APA’s transmission asset portfolio including frontline customer relations, commercial product management, invoicing, and APA Grid Solution design, as well as commercial management for power assets.

Teams include:

  • Product Design
  • Contracts and Commercial Services
  • Grid Solutions
  • Integrated Operations Centre (IOC)

Plus, you’ll complete an additional 6-month rotation in a complementary team aligned to your individual career pathway as part of your initial two-year program to develop broad internal relationships and a wide business perspective.

The location for this role is flexible and hybrid, however, to be able to learn effectively from your mentors and fellow team members, it is important you are based out of the Brisbane or Sydney office, to get the full support you need.

Eligibility

  • Degree qualified by the end of 2024, and within the last 2 years
  • Located within reasonable travel time to the Brisbane office
  • Willingness to continue your learning and be a part of a greater national Graduate team
  • Able to demonstrate the APA behaviours: Accountable, Collaborative, Courageous, Impactful & Nimble
  • Available to start your full-time career on 3rd March 2025

Training, development & rotations

The program at APA is a two-year learning and development journey, designed to help you build a rewarding career linked to your discipline and interests.

As a graduate at APA, you’ll experience:

  • An active program before you start, with a graduate mentor, networking events and personalised career conversations to help tailor your graduate program
  • 3 x 6 monthly rotations across core business areas within your engineering or commercial stream, and an elective rotation you can shape based on your learning/development needs or career pathway interests
  • Meaningful work on rotation, where you’ll be entrusted and empowered to deliver real outcomes for your projects and teams
  • A buddy each rotation and business mentor for 12 months in your second year to help guide your career and development
  • An experiential development program focused on your personal growth to complement your technical learning, with face-to-face workshops and social events
  • On-site field trips with your graduate group so you get to see a diverse range of assets up close, from solar and wind farms to an established power station
  • A culture that supports you to be nimble, accountable, collaborative, impactful and courageous
  • Access to their Yapa community – which supports people who are new to the energy industry, new to the workforce or new to APA – and their regular social and networking events, including a Yapa buddy for when you start.
