I feel like I was given a lot, very early on, and there wasn't much support or even recognition of that fact. I feel like I have been challenged at work, but not in a way that I find interesting or in the direction I want to go in.

I'm usually working on street lighting design so either I'm using perfect lite or AGI to calculate luminance and illuminance. AutoCAD is another software used for drafting. Sometimes bit of report writing is involved too.

My role is very diverse as a consultant, with a mix between fieldwork and office-based reporting. During busier times of the year as a graduate, you're in the field a lot conducting biodiversity surveys and then writing reports such as impact assessments.

My role at the moment is supportive in nature, helping with major projects with a lead keeping an eye over what work I do, which is perfectly okay as I'm still learning the role I play as a GIS consultant. I do however do a bunch of work with ecologists which is mainly by myself which is helping lots in a leading sense.
