Our weekly meeting is a great forum to ask questions and gain further understanding of all the different areas of work within this industry.

7.00 AM

I roll out of bed and get myself ready for the day. With the Ascent polo on and bag packed, I jump into the car to head to work.

8.00 AM

I arrive at the office and make my way to my desk. Our office building is only small, the entrance is via lift! After putting my lunch in the fridge and logging on, I go through my emails and check my calendar for the day.

8.30 AM

After replying to some emails and planning my day, the need for caffeine hits and my colleagues and I head down to our local, favourite cafe. Our 'coffee run' is mandatory for a productive day.

9.00 AM

I get stuck into my engineering report. I've been working on a Lifing assessment for a Small Arms Ammunition round. As someone with a mechanical engineering background, this tests my chemistry as I research into how propellants degrade once exposed to all sorts of harsh environmental conditions and threats such as shock and vibration.

12.00 AM

Time for lunch, on the menu for today is whatever I've decided to meal prep for the week! Although I'm often persuaded to grab a Bahn mi from the local Vietnamese shop, a favourite lunch option in the office.

1.00 PM

My collegues and I head to the meeting room for our weekly team meeting! Here we discuss general updates of the week and our individual progress on our tasks. It's a great forum to ask questions and a gain further understanding of all the different areas of work within this industry.

3.00 PM

I jump on a call to discuss an upcoming trial for a 40mm round. This testing will provide us with a great range of data to support engineering reports in the future. This is exciting as I have developed the test plan that is to be followed for the trial! (picture: work call)

4.30 PM

Work is finished now time to hit the gym!

7.00 PM

After dinner, my partner and I take his dog, Jerry, to the dog park. Jerry is the most bubbly and energetic dog you'll meet, so daily walks or park trip is necessary.
