The first alarm rudely interrupts my sleep, but I manage to hit snooze and steal a few more precious moments.

The second alarm jolts me awake, signalling a rush to get ready for the day. I’m now scrambling to get ready for work, hastily packing my bag with essentials for the day ahead.

I hustle to catch the train into the city. It’s about a 45-minute ride so spend the time sending texts, watching a show, catching up on news or just scrolling on my phone.

8.15 AM

Arriving at the office, the day kicks into high gear. Today's agenda involves presenting to recent graduate engineers about RAAF procedures. With last-minute changes, my colleagues and I run through the presentation, ensuring everything is polished and ready to go.

9.00 AM

The presentation begins, conducted over Teams with a small group of about 8 participants. It's a pretty informal session, prioritizing open discussions and engaging dialogue to really help instil the key steps they will be using. Even though I'm still enrolled in Ascent's graduate program myself, I see this as a valuable chance to demonstrate what I've learned. Sharing my knowledge can benefit others by offering insights relevant to their future work.

10.30 AM

Following the presentation, I meet with my supervisor to discuss current tasks. We review progress on ongoing projects and allocate additional tasks. My workload spans a variety of areas, from analysing aircraft usage monitoring data to writing reports and delving into aircraft maintenance manuals.

After the meeting, it's time to tackle emails and prioritise tasks for the day.

12.00 PM

Lunchtime! I opt for my usual favourite - deep-fried chicken and rice. A delicious midday break to refuel and recharge. People think I’m crazy for eating it so often but it’s just too good!

Back to work, focusing on exploring our new usage monitoring software in depth. I meticulously check parameters and assess the software's capabilities, determining how best to utilize it for our needs. By doing this it could lead to reduced time and effort to complete tasks making myself and others available to tackle other pressing matters.

As the night winds down, I indulge in some phone time and a good book before finally drifting off to sleep, ready to recharge for another busy day ahead.
