Main Responsabilities

• Organise and assist in the preparation and production of dishes to the highest possible standard and maintain punctuality to service requirements.
• Direct and supervise Commis Chefs and trainees in maintaining the standards
• Assist in maintaining a minimal food cost by storing food items correctly and preparing only the portions required
• Prepare daily mise-en-place according to business demand, work lists or verbal instructions ensuring preparation is complete before service
• Assist with the daily requisition of food and equipment items, collect and check store items and ensure proper storage

Qualifications

• Relevant experience in the same or similar role in a high-end restaurant or 5-star hotel environment
• Relevant and minimum of certificate IV in commercial cookery
• Flexibility to work in a shift work and fast-paced environment
