ANAO does this well however caution needs to be taken to promote a culture of genuine acceptance and diversity, rather than having annual events/speeches to "tick a box" in terms of demonstrating diversity.

Diversity is respected within my office, with many morning teas to support particular diversities. In addition, we have diversity contact officers across the ANAO.

The office frequently displays its strong commitment to diversity with numerous events, promotions, the frequency of people going on and returning from Maternity/Paternity leave.

The ANAO is quite diverse. There are good representation of gender and race. A network of Diversity Contact Officers promotes the importance of diversity at the ANAO, including supporting LGBTQ+ communities. There are affirmative recruitment pathways for Indigenous applicants.

What does your company do to attract applicants from less privileged backgrounds?
We are not able to accommodate much for less privileged applicants. Regardless of social privilege, there is a certain level of education or work experience required that is likely to exclude many less privileged applicants.

There are affirmative recruitment pathways for Indigenous applicants. Apart from this, I am not aware of particular efforts to attract applicants from less privileged backgrounds.
