There is a friendly and supportive culture within the office. I have found people to be welcoming and eager to assist with work. As part of the graduate program there have been several social events that are always good fun.

Collaborative environment where people are encouraged to share their ideas. Very inclusive and friendly. Managers and co-workers do not reach out to you after work hours - ensures good work-life balance.

My organisation's culture both in the office, after hours and when WFH has exceeded my expectations. Coming from a retail and supermarket industry background to this organisation in my first professional role has been a real 'eye-opener' in terms of how employees should be treated (i.e. with respect, reasonable timeframes/deadlines for tasks, etc.). Being a Federal Government agency, there is obviously a hierarchical structure and a lot of 'red-tape' so to speak. In saying this, however, the cooperation and teamwork I've observed in my site has been excellent. There are some business areas that perform better in terms of socialising within the team but this comes down to the team dynamic and the leadership style of each team leader.

As a grad there is a great culture both between other grads and with the wider office. The teams are friendly and the leadership is always available to offer guidance or assistance when needed. Outside the office there is a strong social culture amongst grads.

There are ample opportunities for promotion or higher duties. Everyone is willing to assist if I have any queries and generously donates their time and expertise.

It is a very good culture. Everyone makes you feel welcome and valued and everyone will smile and say hello when you pass in the office. The social club organises frequent after hours catch ups as well which are great to connect with people outside of your team.

Graduate, Perth - 04 Nov 2022
There is a bit of red tape, but that's to be expected. Generally, the culture is very good. There are groups dedicated to diversity in the workplace, and everyone is encouraged to be well. I've never had a problem from anyone if I've ever needed a day off to rest and recover. When my family suffered a loss, I was given all the time I needed to recover. I found my team and managers to be incredibly supportive.

The culture in the ATO is united and supportive. In my experience colleagues are always willing to give information and knowledge freely and help is always available. Employees of the ATO are conscious that we are working for the people of Australia and are privileged to do so.
