Your role

Project Overview:

Pluto Train 2 is an expansion project at Woodside Energy's existing Pluto LNG facility in Western Australia, aimed at processing Scarborough gas and increasing LNG capacity by ~5 million tonnes per annum. Additionally, new domestic gas infrastructure will boost capacity to ~225 Terajoules per day. Bechtel has been selected to manage the project's engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning, partnering with Woodside Energy to address the growing global demand for LNG.

Job Summary:

Bechtel’s internship program was created to cultivate real-life industry interests based on hands-on experience. Many new university graduate hires began their careers at Bechtel as a student intern.

The internships run as a 12-week program over the university summer holidays commencing on Monday 18th November 2024. This is a FIFO opportunity from Perth, Western Australia to Karratha, Western Australia on a 3-week on / 1-week off roster for the duration of the program.

Major Responsibilities:

During this time, you’ll see first-hand how the business works and take on tasks related directly to the construction of the project and internal initiatives, all of which will give you valuable industry experience – all while having a real impact on the organization.

Interns work in their multidisciplinary teams, under a dedicated supervisor who will be responsible for providing you with a full and busy workload, whilst also ensuring they provide you with the best experience possible during your time with Bechtel.

Interns will work a 3:1 roster and during their swing will be accommodated in the projects Red Dog Village Camp.

About you

Bechtel is now accepting applications from Civil, Structural, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Undergraduates.

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Applicants must be in their third year of their Engineering degree at an accredited university in one of the fields listed above, and,
• Be an Australian citizen or have the right to permanently work and remain in Australia without sponsorship, and,
• Be able to pass any pre-employment requirements such as a drug screen and background check.

Additional Information:

This position involves exposure to various environmental, construction, and operational conditions, including extensive walking, climbing ladders, working at heights and on uneven surfaces, and working in confined spaces and inclement weather. It requires using standard Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) and adherence to variable work shifts. As the Pluto Train 2 Project is a Major Hazard Facility, it is a non-smoking site with no tobacco products allowed.
