Diversity at CSL

6.8
6.8 rating for Diversity, based on 14 reviews
Please provide further information on diversity with respect to women, ethnic minorities and LGBT. Please comment on issues such as recruitment, retention, promotion, child care, maternity leave, etc.
I have not seen any behaviours that explicitly discriminate based on gender, sexuality, race etc. As far as I can see, anyone is welcome in the company. However, I find that not a lot is done to encourage and promote diversity either. For example, I expected a multi-billion dollar company to put more than $0 into pride month. Despite this I have to reiterate that I do not see discrimination.

Programs in place to recognise and raise awareness for these matters.

Previously behind in this area but working hard to catch up. Implementing reconciliation, LGBTQIA+ programs, etc. Balance of females and males across the business.

They're trying... They celebrate every little event which is a bit over the top. I wish there was more meaningful events to celebrate minorities which bring people together, but they just spend over $1k on a speaker?? Also I've briefly been apart of DEI committee, and they're all cis straight women, some are international but they always said they don't have a budget. Improvement of this committee would be great!

I don't see any discrimination by CSL in terms of recruiting based on race, gender or sexuality. The team here at the project management team i work at are extremely diverse, and it seems like people have been picked based on their ability to do the job well.

CSL celebrates events such as NAIDOC week, wear it purple etc. My workplace is highly diversified in culture & background, gender and LGBT.

Communications regarding diversity and inclusion are regularly sent to us, especially with events coming up. In terms of recruitment, there is a lot of work going into retaining employees and upskilling if required. Promotions are also pretty common as many people move roles.

A lot of areas this is good. Global company makes LGBT issues more difficult to combat

The company currently does not have any data on ethnicity or sexual orientation of employees. There is a higher proportion of men in engineering and this is significant at the higher levels. There is little funding or attention given to celebrating special days like Pride month or reconciliation day to raise awareness for minorities.

What does your company do to attract applicants from less privileged backgrounds?
Not too aware on the programs in place. However, there are upcoming items in place to attract applicants from less privileged backgrounds into the business.

Doesn't matter where you come from it matters who you are and what you can bring to the company. I grew up in the middle of no where and no one was well off. I'm here now, I worked hard, but I'm here.

As far as I understand, the company does not have strategies in place to attract applicants from less privileged backgrounds.
