Jennifer Forday

My role involves helping find candidates for jobs, expanding Fuse’s reach to new companies, and building profiles for potential employers.

What's your background?

I spent my formative years in Rockhampton, QLD, where I lived until I turned 18. After a brief stint in Adelaide, where I met fascinating individuals, I realised that being far from my support system wasn't ideal. Returning to Rockhampton, I secured a retail position before eventually relocating to Brisbane and transferring to a new job location.

During this period, I embarked on a journey of self-discovery, which included traveling to Europe—an experience that was truly remarkable. Subsequently, I made the decision to pursue a marketing degree at QUT while continuing my work in retail. I hope to begin my marketing career in the near future.  Travelling in Europe and University life are definitely important stages in my life. It taught me many things that I cannot list, they can only be experienced.

What's your job about?

When attending the internship, I kick off my day with a good coffee to get caffeinated! After that, I fire up the computer and touch base with my supervisor about my tasks for the day. My role involves helping find candidates for jobs, expanding Fuse’s reach to new companies, and building profiles for potential employers.

What's the coolest thing about your job?

My favourite part of the role is working in an office with such a supportive team. I really appreciate the kindness of everyone here, and it’s great when my close coworkers let me know I’m doing a good job. It really boosts my motivation and reassures me that I’m on the right track.

Could someone with a different background do your job?

People with different degrees and backgrounds can do this internship. I believe that the suitability of the individual depends on their attitude and ability rather than their background.
