Are you Hamilton City Council's next Asset Data Graduate?

We're looking for a recent graduate or a student finishing their study this year, who is passionate, enthusiastic, driven and ready to learn and thrive.  We offer the chance to learn from the best, while developing your skills and experience in a permanent position here at Hamilton City Council.  If you think this could be you, let's talk.

What you will do:

Reporting to the Strategic Asset Specialist and working collaboratively with other asset management stakeholders and departments, this position will maintain and improve asset data through data capture, cleansing, analysis, and reporting. There will be a particular emphasis on GIS and spatial data.

This role will focus on building and shaping your knowledge, experience, competencies, and personal attributes for successful progression to a permanent placement within the organisation.

For this role you must have:

  • A graduate level qualification in GIS, data analytics or related field (or be completing your qualification this year)
  • Self motivation and a positive attitude
  • The ability to work on your own or as part of a team
  • If you have experience using and creating GIS objects/layers and working with spatial datasets - that would be a bonus!
  • The ability to work independently

What will I be part of?

You will be a participant in our two year graduate programme - however this is a permanent position!  You will have a buddy as well as a non-technical mentor to ensure you are well supported.  During the programme, you will have regular sessions with our Organisational Development team to help you settle into life here at Council and also give you the opportunity to stay connected with your fellow graduates from other areas of Council.

This job is for you if:

  • You love data!  This position is key to maintaining and improving our asset data, with a focus on GIS and spatial data.
  • Have a keen eye for detail, and a questioning mindset.
  • You have exceptional communication skills and the ability to collaborate with your team members.
