Healthy social interactions with different groups of employees in different teams and roles. Monthly social club events. Friendly and cooperative environment to work within.

The culture is positive. While the nature of the industry is hierarchical, most people across all levels are approachable and willing to assist juniors. Outside of work hours, social events are frequently organised and well attended.

In office: people come to the office pretty much every day. While firm is flexible, my team requires 4 days a week. After-hours it is very social, with social functions at night and on the weekend. Structure and hierarchy is quite traditional, however feedback, collaboration and teamwork encouraged. My teammates are among some of my good friends.

I have worked at other firms as a junior and MinterEllison has the best culture of all the places I have worked. In my team in DR, the team is divided up into specialities and from there hieachary of experience (ie associate, senior associate, partner). What I like about Minters is that I can just walk into a partners office and have a chat and work directly for him. There is no hiearchy in the sense that I can only talk to certain people of certain levels. This team is big on teamwork to achieve and the team are all friends and collegial. every fortnight Thursday we have pizza and drinks.

The culture at the firm is fantastic, all of the senior lawyers are extremely approachable and generally matters are worked on in relatively small teams. This means that as a junior, you get to spend a lot of time with the partners and senior lawyers who you are working closely with. Everyone puts a lot of effort into explaining the work and being available for any questions or discussions you might have. The after-hours culture is also great, with everyone being respectful of your personal time. There is no expectation that you stay late for the sake of it, although it is common to work later hours when there is a transaction on or very urgent work, however this is an exception rather than the norm.

The culture at the firm is excellent, especially with the people who provide instructions to you. If you don't understand things, your buddy, associate or event partners are available to discuss the task and provide clarification.

Culture is very strong from top to bottom in the office and outside. Teams encourage discussion from all levels and socialise effectively without significant silos.

I have come in at an entry level position. Everyone I have meet has genuinely been lovely. All my superiors have been super open about answering any questions I may have and in supporting my learning. The work from home and in office blend also allows me to maintain my work/life balance. I feel no pressure to work beyond my contracted hours and feel that my manager respects my time.

The culture during work hours is very supportive and respectable. It is also fun and fair. I love the people I work with and have a very understanding manager. I received a lot of on-the-job training and have very regular one to one meeting with my boss.

Our office has a great culture and socialises regularly, with a diverse range of people interacting across all the different teams and levels.

Though as with any large firm there is a hierarchy, amongst younger partners this is not felt on a day to day basis. All partners have a very open door policy and are happy to assist junior lawyers where possible. Additionally, staff relate to each other on an interpersonal level, both at equal levels and between senior and juniors. After work social frequency has decreased firm event wise, however non-company event socialising remains strong within the team

Varies significantly between teams within the office.

The culture is a strength of the firm. Teamwork is frequent and everyone is very collegiate and supportive. Socialising outside of office hours is not as common from what I have experienced, but I very much enjoy the in-office culture.

The teams do not work in silos meaning that when you have capacity, I always like assisting anybody that needs it. It's always a great learning experience.

Minters focuses on culture at the firm. I find my teams and grad cohort to be wonderful to be around and work with.
Graduate, Melbourne - 16 Oct 2023
Plenty of opportunities to socialise with others. Everyone if easy to get along with
Graduate, Adelaide - 16 Oct 2023
During hours, everyone is amazing. I haven't experienced any dramas or problems within my cohort or colleagues. Everyone seems genuinely invested in my development and my experience at the firm, whether its my supervisor or a random lawyer I run into in the elevator. It would be nice to have more Friday Night Drinks held by the firm so we can mingle with the other teams as we haven't really had them

On the whole, I've found everyone is very supportive of each other. Teamwork has been good too - with many of the seniors it feels like you are working 'with' them rather than 'for' them.

People are respectful and good to work with, hierarchy exists but is not imposing. People are always willing to answer questions and partners are approachable.
