There appears to be strong commitment to diversity at the firm. There are social groups dedicated to ethnically diverse and LGBTIQA+ groups, there are many resources provided for women's issues (e.g. presentations/readable material) and there is a Reconciliation Action Plan and associated events which occur throughout the year.

MinterEllison is the best firm I have worked for when it comes to diversity. There are womens, LGBT and women of colour groups at minters. Minters has a great parental leave policy and recently introduced that the secondary partner can take as much leave as the primary partner. As someone with mental health issues, Minters adapted my work role while I recieved treatment so that I could still maintain my job and progress with my career.

THE LGBTIQA community is particularly supported at our firm with the PRIME group and support of mardi gras in Sydney. I have also been invited onto the RAP committee which is amazing for developing awareness of first nations cultural issues and developing tertiary education in first nations regional communities.

High representation of otherwise minority communities in commercial law. Firm has commitment to 40:40:20 gender distribution at the partnership level, which is looks on track to achieve. Great parental leave perks.

I feel that my company is very supportive and committed to diversity. We have positions and teams dedicated to improving the firm's diversity and accessibility. I feel that the firm excels in their goals and efforts towards making recruitment, retention, promotion, childcare, maternity leave etc, accessible to all and diversely inclusive.

The way I'm treated in the firm is not a problem at all, as I feel very safe and welcomed but I do believe that there is a lot more work that needs to be done on this front. Support with workloads and flexibility with hours when dealing with parental responsibilities, extra curriculars, medical issues, pregnancy and even childloss is incredible. I've notice that people only really leave the firm because they get great opportunities through secondments that become permanent or go into consulting, in house, overseas etc. Not really to a rival firm, which speaks magnitudes about retainment.
