Commencing January 2025, our Graduate Engineering Officer Program will provide you with learning opportunities that are unique to Powerlink and the electricity sector, working across Design, Systems, Field and Delivery rotations. 

Our programs provide an exciting mix of on-the-job technical learning and professional development. 

As a graduate with Powerlink, you’ll experience:

Our Graduate Engineering Officers’ salaries start at $109,021 + 14.75% Super for a 9-day fortnight. On occasion, some Graduates may work a 10-day fortnight, and can expect a starting base salary of $133,248 + 14.75% Super.

As a permanent employee, you’ll rotate through different divisions over two years in a structured program, (with the option for additional electives) before being fully integrated into the business into a team you love. Head over to our graduate page to learn more. 

Who are we looking for? 

Our Graduate Engineering officer program is open to those who are completing their final year of study, or have recently completed qualifications – offered at the level of engineering associate under the Dublin Accord, in:

  • Associate Degree of Engineering (Electrical or Mechatronics)
  • Associate Degree (Electrical and Electronic Engineering)
  • Associate Degree in Engineering Technology (Electrical and Electronics)
  • Associate Degree in Electrical Engineering

OR

  • Advanced Diploma of Applied Electrical Engineering
  • Advanced Diploma of Applied Electrical Engineering (Power Industry)
  • Advanced Diploma of Engineering Technology (Electrical)

We also invite individuals to apply who have recently completed qualifications – offered at the level of engineering technologist under the Syndey Accord, in:

  • Bachelor of Engineering Technology in Electrical or Electrical & Electronic or Telecommunications
  • Bachelor of Engineering Science in Electrical or Electrical & Electronic
  • Bachelor of Science (Electrical Engineering)

You will also hold a relevant electrical trade qualification (or equivalent certificate III qualification) paired with a current Queensland drivers’ licence (manual required).
