Imagine if you could say you played a pivotal role in Queensland’s energy transformation in your first job out of university.

Several years as a Graduate at Powerlink is all it takes to set up life-long possibilities for your career. Queensland is on the cusp of huge changes and as the only state-wide high voltage provider, there’s never been a better time to join.

Because at Powerlink, Graduate possibilities start with us.

What are we offering?

Experience an exciting era of energy projects and transformation and help to shape a greener energy future.  This year we will have dynamic programs in both electrical engineering and civil engineering that will give you the best possible grounding for a career in energy.

Commencing January 2025, our Graduate Program will provide you with learning opportunities that are unique to Powerlink and the electricity sector, working across Design, Systems, Field and Delivery rotations.

Our programs provide an exciting mix of on-the-job technical learning and professional development. As a graduate with Powerlink, you’ll experience:

  • Broad rotations to build your technical knowledge and capability
  • Internal training and development sessions to support your career.
  • External paid professional development opportunities and support for RPEQ status (where applicable)
  • Buddy and formal mentoring programs with our experienced network of professional leaders
  • Year-long social activities to keep you connected to your graduate cohort
  • 9-day fortnight and flexible working opportunities
  • 12.75% superannuation and salary packaging of novated lease vehicles
  • Free parking and access to charging stations for electric vehicles at our Virginia Offices

Our Graduates start on $94,317 + 12.75% Super for a 9-day fortnight. On occasion, some Graduates may work a 10-day fortnight, and can expect a starting base salary of $108,544 + 12.75% Super.

Life at our Virginia Campus is always buzzing with regular social events, an onsite gym facility with daily classes, and a kitchen + sandwich bar offering quality meals at subsidised prices. You'll also receive a paid volunteer day to go and give back to your community!

As a permanent employee, you’ll rotate through different divisions over three years in a structured program, before being fully integrated into the business in a team you love. Head over to our graduate page to learn more about our rotations.

Who are we looking for?

You’re an enthusiastic early career entrant who has graduated or will be completing your studies in 2024 or by June 2025. We are looking for graduates who have completed, or will be completing degrees, or dual-degrees in:

  • Bachelor of Engineering (4-year degree), majoring in Electrical or Mechatronics or Telecommunications
  • Bachelor of Engineering majoring in Civil Engineering
  • Dual Bachelor of Engineering and Business, Science, IT, Computer Science or Data Science
