What are your thoughts on pay and bonuses at your company?
Not the best paying job for the hours worked.

pay rates are lower than anticipated

Obviously everyone always wants more but when you're a grad and the pay is good enough thats all you need. I know the pay will go up nicely as I move up the ranks and my future opportunities improve greatly with the experience and training I'm gaining. Would also think the bonuses could be slightly better.

Standard big 4 graduate pay, nothing special here
Graduate, Sydney - 07 Nov 2023
Pay wise I appreciate I am a junior and therefore, in light of this very satisfied at this stage.

I dont believe the current pay reflects the economic inflation.
Graduate, Sydney - 07 Nov 2023
I got 0 bonus last year, purely because I wasn't in my position for more than 6 months, and it wasn't actually based on my performance. The increase in pay that I got was 1%, which is 5 below inflation, which is insane when you consider grads coming in to my position would be getting paid the same even though I have 2 more years experience than them and will be coaching them.

Associate pay is very low - makes me regret not going into Tech a bit.
Graduate, Sydney - 07 Nov 2023
For the amount of overtime needed, pay is not great. Also did not get an inflation-indexed raise.
Graduate, Perth - 07 Nov 2023
Pay is very low compared to other accountants, especially considering the working hours
Graduate, Perth - 07 Nov 2023
Pay is ok but expected at my level. There will be plenty of opportunities for salary increases later on. I am also able to live on my salary. My partner and I both work and earn approximately the same amount of money. We are able to afford to rent a three bedroom house in a good neighbourhood, two good cars, and we still have money to put aside into savings and investments. So that is really all you could ask for. Very liveable salary. I got a small bonus this year which was also a nice treat.

Accounting firms always have the lowest pay and highest volume of work lol.
Graduate, Sydney - 07 Nov 2023
The pay for a graduate doesn't align with the competition (we get paid less)

We don't really have any. We have a wellness benefit but most companies fully pay for a gym membership or give you access to a gym which is worth a lot more. We don't get lots of free dinners unless its engagement leader approved and significant overtime is worked.
Graduate, Perth - 07 Nov 2023
