RAA’s Summer Internship Program:

RAA’s Award-Winning Summer Internship Program provides university students with the opportunity to undertake a paid, eight-week internship at RAA over the summer holidays. RAA’s Summer Internship Program has recently been ranked #2 Top Intern Program in the nation, for small programs according to AAGE’s 2024 Top Intern Programs List! This program provides the following: 

  • Gives budding professionals valuable industry experience and the opportunity to see our values and culture firsthand
  • Weekly Lunch & Learns targeted to improve your interpersonal skills and help with the transition from campus to the corporate world 
  • Be provided with exciting and meaningful work to make a real impact to SA 
  • Work on an Innovative Project with your entire internship cohort and present this on your final day 
  • Regular mentoring sessions with a Senior Manager to help you grow in the right direction 
  • A ‘ride along’ with an RAA Patrol to see some of what we do in the SA community 
  • A fun, friendly and supportive environment that makes you excited to come to work! 

Over the eight-week internship, you will work with the other interns and your team to develop your professional skills, business acumen and gain insight into a rewarding career at RAA. As a top performer, you may even find a potential pathway to employment!

You must be currently in your final year or penultimate year of undergraduate study with a minimum credit average, have Australian working rights, and be available for the full duration of the internship in Adelaide from 2 December 2024 – 13 December 2024 & 6 January 2025 – 14 February 2025.

Responsibilities:

The Work Health & Safety Summer Intern will be responsible for supporting the implementation and optimisation of the digital safety solution, DoneSafe. This role plays a crucial part in improving WHS outcomes at RAA, ensuring alignment with the WHS strategic goals and enhancing the employee experience. Responsibilities include: 

  • Participate in the post-implementation activities of the DoneSafe system
  • Assist in the creation of the WHS Risk Registers for each business unit
  • Create awareness via training packages for different user levels based on security permissions and roles
  • Assist in the required creation of WHS Checklists, forms, audits etc
  • Work directly with business units to put together recommendations based off findings and research to build models 
  • Assist with the creation of the required reports and dashboards to provide transparency for the Business Units

About you  

You will be a passionate, self-motivated individual, with a positive mind-set who is eager to learn and enjoys working in a high performing culture. We are also looking for: 

  • Currently in your penultimate or final year of a bachelor’s degree in a relevant (e.g. Psychology, WHS, Sociology, HR)
  • The ability to work across our Mile End site and our office in Adelaide’s CBD 
  • Experience in customer service, retail and/or hospitality is highly desirable
  • Basic understanding of management systems (desired)
  • High academic achievement (minimum GPA 5.0 or credit average)
  • Teamwork demonstrated through extracurricular activities (e.g. sports, clubs, work, societies)
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills 
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Intermediate skills in MS Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel & PowerPoint)
  • A quick learner who seeks out opportunities to improve their skills and knowledge
  • People-centric approach to tasks
