Please describe the interview process and assessments.
I was interviewed twice. Once for my student role for the EA team, and then again for the L400 Ph2 team. Both times I was only interviewed by the people I'd be working with. As important as that is, I think the person could potentially be my manager should also be involved in the interview process. That way they could explain the professional development opportunities and potential future roles. However, compare to other hiring processes, it had far fewer steps. Others had problem solving evaluations, team role evaluations and group interviews / group problem solving days.

Interview was fantastic. It was laid back, the interviewers were all very friendly and no obscure questions were asked.

I sent my CV and cover letter to RDA. I then had a 30-minute interview with the people managing me. Citizenship, police and qualifications checks were done, and I had to give RDA two referees who could be used for security clearance.

Interview was a phone screening then an online (due to covid restrictions) interview. Communication was quick and clear during the process, and I was contacted via phone within 3 days after the interview.

What questions were you asked in your interviews?
Combination of technical questions, previous experiences and interests. I think the interviews themselves were very thorough and challenging.

I was asked about where and what I studied, how far away from the office I lived, a little bit about myself. I was also asked more specific questions relating to the role, such as experience using excel and general questions about the field. Pointed questions about the university courses I took were also included.

Do you have any specific tips and advice for candidates applying to your company? How would you recommend they best prepare?
Try not to stress so much about the technical questions. Do your best to show off your personality and how you best operate in a team. That will help them determine if they are a good fit for you and if you are a good fit for them. Also don't be afraid to ask questions in return.

Prepare as best you can by looking into the company's current and past projects. Make sure you know what the role is of the position you are applying for and go into the interview with a positive can-do attitude!

The interviewer definitely read through my resume prior to the interview, so be prepared to answer questions about your education or work experience. Prepare for questions that relate to the role, any specific software or tools mentioned in the advertisement were asked about.
