Career Prospects at Sims Limited

I believe that the promotion opportunities at Sims Metal are excellent. Following the graduate rotations, individuals have the flexibility to identify and focus on areas of work they find most enjoyable. Expressing personal preferences and concerns is encouraged, and the company is open to adjusting positions accordingly. This adaptability is particularly advantageous as it allows employees to develop specific skills with the company's support. In terms of promotions, they are typically contingent on one's performance in their current role and the availability of positions within the company. The organization actively supports employees in taking initiative, enhancing their skill sets, and actively seeking feedback as part of their career advancement journey.

Through the graduate program, and communicating through various aspects of the business, you get to see how people have "risen through the ranks" originally starting as a graduate who are now in management / senior rolls. My own management is very encouraging at outlining opportunities and potential career progression. By giving a variety of support, challenges can be overcome and promotions are awarded for such things.

At this point I don't know anything about my career progression options, even if in a year my program will end, and I should move to a new role.
