Sims Metal, being one of the worlds largest recycling company's has an extremely prevalent sustainability policy / efforts. This includes the implementation of new technologies to further our recycling processes and new machinery. Even it's a recycling company, further initiatives could be done, or implemented before to been asked by government organizations

This one is a bit confusing. Obviously as we are a recycling company there is a huge push to reduce environmental emissions, which I absolutely respect. This is one of the biggest reasons I love working at sims, because I know that we are striving to create a better future. But everything here is dealt with using paper. Technology has advanced so far that there is little to no need for anything to be kept in a paper copy, however there is no push from corporate to take this step. With the current processes in place, our technology on site can not be kept up to date without upper management pushing these requests through. I understand that this is for safety and security reasons, however seeing as there is a push for solar panel, I don't see why there can't also be a push to go paperless. A great start would be to make sure that sites have wifi, even to the back corners (like the maintenance office).
