If you are studying Civil engineering, this is the perfect opportunity to work across an exciting and broad range of projects in our Buildings team!

What we provide

  • 10-week (400 hours) internship between November to February (timing may vary depending on the team) with a structured internship program
  • Opportunity to continue to work with Stantec casually after your initial internship, with the potential to obtain a 2026 graduate position!

What does a Civil Engineering intern do in our Buildings team? 

  • Supporting the projects through assisting with planning, due diligence, drafting/modelling, technical solutions, coordination and report writing
  • Working with a team of talented professionals on a variety of multidisciplinary projects
  • Develop your capabilities & technical skills
  • Work on a mix of projects including defence, health, residential, commercial and industrial.
  • Working alongside a team of engineers, designers and project managers to deliver quality engineering and technical activities to achieve successful projects
  • Participate in meetings with clients and other consultants, and contractors to facilitate effective project coordination.
  • Complete design calculations and records within time and budget restraints
  • Gain experience in site inspections and construction contracts
  • Utilise industry-standard software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, DRAINS and MUSIC to create and modify engineering plans in a digital format
  • Contribute to the preparation of reports and other essential engineering documentation
  • Conduct site visits, observe and monitor construction activities, providing valuable insights for ongoing design projects
