What does a Hydraulic Engineer in Buildings do?

  • Applying your knowledge of fluid flow to building hydraulic services - incoming (water) and outgoing (sanitary drainage, stormwater, rainwater) You will also be involved in scoping and designing specialist hydraulic services like high purity water, treatment of industrial wastewater across a variety of facility types
  • Engaging with stakeholders such as authorities, clients (external and internal), suppliers and project team members
  • Applying first principles thinking to develop code compliant designs.
  • Aiding with the documentation of designs using Autodesk packages such as Revit
  • Undertaking site-based investigations and construction phase site visits for a "start to finish" experience
  • Working on a variety of projects concurrently
