5.30 AM

I'll wake up have a shower and get in the car to go to work

6.00 AM

I will leave to go to either one of the two construction sites that I work on, Today I will be going out to the companies largest Job which is at a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility.

7.00 AM

I sit in the lunch shed to hear my site supervisor provide a daily toolbox where he goes over the numbers that each trade has one site, the PPE requirements and any high-risk work that is to take place during the day. I usually have the first coffee of the day during this meeting.

7.30 AM

I sit down at my desk go through my emails and update my to do list accordingly. My to do list is on excel and color-coded, from this sheet, I’m able to see what tasks are overdue and which are due soon. I use this to prioritize which tasks I will be undertaking that day. I also check my calendar for upcoming meetings for the day at this time. 

Today I have three meetings with my project manager for my Latrobe Job. Following this, I’ll go for a site walk to talk to my foreman to see if there are any RFI’s they’re chasing.

10.00 AM

I drive down to the local coffee shop and collect coffees for my site team around this time. Depending on the time of the year, Ill either get a long black or an iced coffee. As it is summer today, I’m getting an Iced coffee.

12.00 AM

At 11 am, I go for a walk with the client to catch up on some of the defects that are pressing and what they need me to prioritize for their commissioning. Following this I will have a catch up to go over document handover.

1.00 PM

Today I have a final building inspection, which I will carry out to ensure that the building can be handed over to Pfizer and, if successful, reactive an occupancy permit.

2.00 PM

I'll have some lunch, which I usually try to bring as the food in Mulgrave is few and far between. Today I have left over lasagna, which I made and frozen a few weeks prior. I like to play a game of chess while I eat.

3.00 PM

I send off a few emails and send out some RFI’s to the consultants. If there are some critical RFI’s I will call the consultant to get an indication of the answer, so that I can provide some direction to the trades.

4.00 PM

As it is the end/start of the month, I will start processing progress claims from the subcontractors for both of my jobs. I will spend a few hours doing this to ensure it is ready for my project managers review and sign off.

5.30 PM

I'll usually pack up around this time on a busy day like today. I'll sendoff any final emails and make sure my to-do list is updated for tomorrow. I will do a light tidy of my desk and pack up my things.

6.30 PM

I get to the gym around this time, I will usually spend about an hour and 15 minutes working out, this gives me time to relax after a hard day work.

7.30 PM

I go to the local Coles or Woolworths to get some ingredients for my dinner and lunch tomorrow. I’m not good at planning my meals so I usually go to the shops three times a week.

8.00 PM

At 8 I will begin cooking a grand feast. Sometimes this will include a vegan option if I see my girlfriend; other times I will just cook for myself. Following dinner, I will usually watch a movie/play some backyard cricket with my housemate or drive to my girlfriends house to play some cards. I usually like to be in bed not long after dinner; I like to have an early night in order to do it all again tomorrow.
