Please describe the interview process and assessments.
Online application of approximately 3000 words, then 1 hour virtual interview, followed by a half-day virtual selection day which includes a group activity and sample teaching lesson.
Graduate, Wangaratta, Victoria - 14 Jan 2022
Although the recruitment process was intense, I felt that it was fair and focussed on finding the right culture fit. I felt that I could be myself and that my honest answers were valued (as opposed to feeling like I had to respond in a certain employer-friendly way!)

Very thorough.

Firstly, there was a written application that was submitted online. It would have consisted of around 2000-3000 words. After this, there was a Zoom interview, in which a few more personal questions were asked. After this, there was Selection Day, which was where many applicants all participated in a day of activities targeted toward assessing our teamwork skills, communication skills and commitment to the mission.

Do you have any specific tips and advice for candidates applying to your company? How would you recommend they best prepare?
Reflect upon your skills and experiences to determine how they relate to the eight Teach For Australia selection competencies. Participate in the webinars and in-person opportunities to engage with alumni to understand their journey and responsibilities in the TFA program, so candidates can accurately describe the environment they will be working in.

Make contact with a recruitment manager for your region. I sat down with one prior to submitting my written application and she was extremely helpful in pointing out what they were looking for and how best to structure my response.

Work out whether it is the right fit for you. If it is, the passion and interest will come naturally.
