Technically, 7.25 hours per day plus a one hour lunch break. The company has flexible policies which include flexibility around start and end times and working from home.

My company and my team are quite flexible. I am able to work from home 1 day per week/fortnight and I can start late or finish early if I have other commitments to make it to. I generally make up for any time I take out on the other days of the week!

I work 36.25 hours a week which is standard FT for UoM. Hours are unclear, there is apparent flexibility when asked but a general culture in some teams where differing from standard hours is passively frowned upon.

I definitely don't spend as much time working back late as the average Aussie employee does, I'm sure - but that may be because I'm a graduate and therefore the business unit can't afford to rely on my assistance too heavily (as I will be moving on again). That said, I am pretty unhappy with the lack of flexibility in my workplace and the way I'm made to feel guilty if I leave when I've finished my work. This team seems to want me chained to my desk ensuring I do my full hours, rather than my old team which gave us the responsibility to look after our own workload and leave early if we were finished everything, and leave later other days if we had more to do. This also meant that we weren't monitored on when we arrived/left, and if we met with someone for a coffee, etc. I'm really upset that I have lost the benefits of that trust in this new workplace.

Each team has been different. One team was very flexible and allowed me to work from home on occasion. My current team runs a lot of events after-hours, so it's difficult to change those, but there are TOIL benefits. On a day-to-day basis, my hours are much more predictable and shorter than other graduate programs.

This depends on what team you are in but if you're not student-facing I believe most managers are very flexible if you want to start and finish late/early, have appointments to get to, etc.

The University is a leader in work-flexibility and work balance. I rarely work past standard office hours in a normal week and I am able to re-arrange my work-day if I need to take a couple of hours away from the office to attend a medical appointment or another commitment. Productivity is not affected because you feel motivated to make up time elsewhere as a result.

Not flexible with when I work but the culture is strictly 9-5 which I value as I do not feel pressured to work overtime
