Your role

As a planning intern at Urbis, you won't be a passive observer – you'll actively contribute to complex and meaningful projects that shape the urban landscape. Working within their accomplished team at Urbis, you'll gain invaluable insights and make a tangible impact on real-world initiatives. Their student roles provide the flexibility of working 2 - 4 days per week, allowing you to seamlessly integrate your internship with your studies.

They work on a diverse range of projects, from residential and commercial developments to large-scale urban planning. Their services include strategic planning, development approvals, policy advice, and community consultation. With a deep understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities, the team provides insightful, strategic, and practical solutions to drive sustainable growth and create thriving communities in the region.

As an intern in the Urban Planning team, you will:

  • Provide input into the provision of a range of services for their clients, including advice relating to land use, development capability, due diligence assessments, masterplans and the approval process.
  • Assist in the preparation of documentation for pre-lodgement and client meetings
  • Conduct research and undertake site visits to gather essential data and information
  • Provide support to the Urban Planning team in servicing client requirements

About you

This program will be suitable for those who will be undertaking tertiary studies in a relevant field in 2025, and have a combination of the following competencies and qualifications:

  • Passionate, hardworking and a great fit for the spirited, collaborative culture at Urbis
  • Can communicate with confidence and in a responsive manner, both written and verbally
  • Proven skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Please Note: you must have valid working rights in Australia and be studying throughout the duration of the internship to be eligible for the program.
