It is expected that you get your work done. You could leave early one day, but you would be expected to make up for this lost time on a later date. You are employed for a 38 hour work week, so that is what you are expected to work.

Due to my hobbies I've got a flexible arrangement of hours with my manager, where I cover my 40 hours a week non-uniformly in order to accommodate early leave or late starts on certain days. However, when there are certain deadlines, I may occasionally work overtime in order to complete these tasks which I usually don't mind.

Usually work 8:30am - 5pm on weekdays, with flexibility to start a bit earlier and finish up earlier.

My hours are very good. I'm working normal full-time hours of 38-40 hours per week. The extra 2 hours per week is when something really interesting is happening and I stay back. Nobody will make you stay back past your finish time, if you mention that it's home time for you they will encourage you to go home. I've also varied my start/finish time a lot which has been very useful.

Extremely flexible. The expectation is that provided that you are getting your work done, you can have some flexibility around start and finish times.
