Acusensus provides technology to encourage behavioural change to reduce the prevalence of distracted driving.

Our core focus is to reduce preventable road trauma. After decades of improvements in road safety, the past few years have seen increases in the number of people killed and injured on many developed world roads. In the corresponding period, we have witnessed an expansion in the number of drivers interacting with a phone while behind the wheel. At any given time, between 1% and 5% of Australian drivers are manipulating a phone, at any point on the road network. These drivers have a dramatically raised crash risk.

Acusensus developed world-first technology to automatically detect motorists using a phone at any speed, and capture prosecutable photographic evidence of that use for the authorities. We have been awarded the contract with the NSW Government to deploy illegal phone use cameras across the State. We are in active pilot processes in several other countries and in several Australian States.

While the company is young, having been incorporated in early 2018, the team is highly experienced in the road safety space. The company was sponsored by the University of Melbourne's Accelerator Program. We have attracted seed investment and Series A investment, and are well capitalised for several years. Our ambition is to noticeably contribute to road trauma reduction, globally.

We recognise that the team makes our business, and our founder Alex Jannink and the board strongly believe in supporting, growing and rewarding the team to the maximum extent possible. It is why every permanent employee from Grad to MD are on generous short term bonuses, and long term (stock option) bonus plans, and why we are rigorous in ensuring every team member is respected and respectful. KPIs at Acusensus are all on behaviour and attitude - measured across Collaboration, Integrity, Delivery, Impact and Attitude.

We are in a significant growth phase and are constantly looking for great new entrants to join us and learn from our experienced team. The work is exciting and rewarding. In particular, roles routinely available in the grad space are software engineers in Melbourne.
