Recognised as #1 Graduate Employer in Engineering Consulting in 2024 by Prosple Australia!

Every day, a new challenge. Every day is a chance to make a difference. Every day, talented people like you join Arup.

Dedicated to sustainable development, Arup is a collective of designers, consultants and experts working globally aiming to identify a balance between the needs of a growing world population and the finite capacity and health of our planet.

Founded to be both humane and excellent, we collaborate with our clients and partners using imagination, technology, and rigour to shape a better world.

At Arup you’ll gain first-hand exposure to innovative, sustainable, multi-disciplinary projects from the very start.

Graduate Development Programme:

Our Graduate Development Program blends hands-on experience with technical knowledge, giving you the opportunity to learn while creating city-shaping projects.

You will work alongside some of the industry’s most passionate and creative minds, creating sustainable solutions

The combination of formal learning and industry exposure will ensure you have the skills for a successful career and enable you to build your professional network.

The programme brings the entire Australasian graduate cohort together virtually in a variety of learning workshops, events and activities over the first few weeks of the Graduate journey.

Summer Vacation Programme

Our Summer Vacation Programme is a 12-week paid placement over the summer university break. It’s an opportunity to take a test drive before you graduate and see what your future with us could look like. On completion, you will be automatically considered for a graduate role, putting you ahead of the graduate pack.

You will be paid for your work and get a taste of what it's like to work on projects like offshore wind farms or city-shaping precincts.

You will access curated learning content helping equip you with valuable skills to set you apart in your career.

Our curated learning workshops will help you:

  • Develop your career by building your professional presence and employability skills.
  • Learn strategies to manage challenges in the workplace.
  • Unlock your potential using a growth mindset.
  • Think towards your future by exploring career pathways and direction.

We’re looking for students ready to take the leap into the professional world; diverse individuals who want to explore challenges with curiosity and creativity.

“Our firm invests in people, and I look up to our leaders who started out as graduates and are now project directors, team leaders and board members.”

Corporate Social Responsibility
What Graduates Say About Them
  • The culture and everyone here are so supportive. Managers consistently encourage employees to take personal leave when going through stressful situations (eg. death in the family, relationship breakdown, burnout). People are approachable and much more willing to provide advice/help than I am used to. There is also a clear effort to build personal relationships despite being a large company, through regular optional social events and a culture of checking in socially
  • The culture here, everyone is nice and welcoming no matter what office you visit. They are flexible with work hours and care about you as a person. You get a day off on your birthday
  • I feel like the workplace cares for and belongs to me
  • Provide graduates with lots of learning opportunities, and knowledge transfer opportunities
  • I feel like the grad program component wasn't as relevant to my role as it could have been, I think this is because all grads regardless of whether they are engineers, architects, or accountants complete the same grad program content. I have learned heaps about my role from the people in my team and content for geotechnics outside of the grad program though
  • If you don't have a strong work ethic it's easy to slack off or not get given work
  • When there isn't a lot of project work available to work on
  • The company structure is sometimes too liberal and DIY, meaning direction, feedback, and management are hard to find for an early career professional
