Our History
Ventura was founded on the 24th of December 1924 when Henry Cornwall, a war veteran and Victorian farmer, purchased a bus and began to transport customers between Box Hill and Spencer Street station.
Today Ventura, a fourth-generation Australian family company, is Victoria’s largest bus operator and charter coach operator. We employ more than 1,800 people and our fleet consists of over 900 buses including our first zero-emissions vehicle with many more to come to reflect our company-wide commitment to providing sustainable transport solutions.
In total, we carry over 42 million customers per year and have accreditation with Bus Safety Victoria and ISO9001. We have 12 depots that are positioned to service customers locally and efficiently.
Alongside our government contracts and route services, Ventura is also one of the largest suppliers of bus charter services in Victoria. We service approximately 150 schools, providing transport for students to get to, from, or between campus locations. We also facilitate dozens of school camps and excursions every year. At Ventura, no job is too big or too small. We provide transport for major events all across Victoria, such as Vinehop, and also offer services for smaller endeavours such as weddings and private tours.
Whether big or small, all our charter services operate with the same level of dedication and focus on safety and service that customers come to expect when travelling with Ventura.
