Worley Graduate Programs & Internships

  • Engineering Consulting

Worley's Graduate Development Program is a two-year foundational development program for graduates to build fundamental knowledge and become well-rounded professionals who are best prepared to advance and take the next steps in their careers and support the future of Worley.

This core two-year program aims to develop and complete professional capabilities while progressing technical capabilities as expected by each discipline. It is intended to:

  • Develop discipline competence and broad business and leadership understanding.
  • Instill a culture of lifelong learning, recognizing the impact of learning on opening future opportunities.
  • Engage and inspire graduates to learn together and build professional career networks.
  • Accelerate career development personally and professionally.
  • Attract other graduates by becoming an employer of choice.

Our graduate program includes:

  • An assigned buddy - a friendly face to answer any questions you might have as you commence with the business.
  • A mentor to support your professional and personal development as you progress through the GDP.
  • A dedicated Graduate Connect Committee who supports the development, engagement, and attraction of graduates in the business - a group of graduates who aim to enhance the experience of all graduates.
  • A variety of internal and external networking and social activities organised by the Graduate Connect Committee, as well as lunch and learns, site opportunities, and professional development opportunities.

We give our graduates the freedom and flexibility to direct their own career paths through a self-directed learning approach and supported by regional graduate committees. We also run our Growth Future Leaders program each year. This allows up to 20 of our people to work across our business, gain diverse new skills and work closely with senior management.

What Graduates Say About Them
  • Everyone in the business is always keen and open to teaching new employees. Gender equality was one of the important aspects that caught my eye with the company when I started off as an undergrad. There was a 50/50 ratio of male and females selected for the undergraduate program. Gender equality is a value I advocate for and I am glad to be working for a company that aligns with my values.
  • The cultural, the support of the team and range of projects.
  • Rotation Opportunity, greater exposure into different industry
  • The opportunities and support from senior leaders in the business who are invested in developing their young professionals
  • Amazing work culture, with senior leaders who are willing to invest in the growth of the younger generation
  • Things can happen slowly in regard to winning/commencing work.
  • Due to the rapid growth and constant evolution of the company, systems (usually IT) never feel aligned and are always disjointed. The entry level graduate salary leaves much to be desired.
  • Not a tight-knit social culture
  • Currently not enough significant rotation opportunities for rural / FIFO work.
  • Budget restraints which could potentially speedup the duration of the project. This sometimes forces the learning process to be quicker.
